Yes. Finding tables, joining them and chatting are free, and stay free. Pro is optional. It puts you first in line when a seat opens, and takes the ceiling off hosting: unlimited tables, up to three events at once, repeating tables and unlimited saved searches.

Board games, card games, wargames, party games, dice games and tabletop RPGs. Hosts tag each table with the game and its genre, so you can filter to the kind of night you want.

Yes. Say what you are playing, when, where, and how many seats there are. Keep it public so anyone nearby can ask to join, or private so only people you invite can see it.

A table is one game at one time. An event is a venue and a window, like a game day at a shop, with several games running under it. You say you are coming to the event rather than booking a seat at one game, and the games themselves are first come, first served on the day.

If the organiser allows it, yes. Say you are coming first, then add your game to the day and it picks up the venue automatically. Some organisers approve games before they show on the bill, so yours may wait a little.

Start a time poll on the table and propose a few options. Everyone chooses every time they could make, not only their favourite, so you can see which slot the most people can actually do. When voting closes the host applies the winning time and the table moves to it.

The host always can. They can also let anyone at the table start one, which is off until they turn it on. Whoever starts the poll picks how long it runs, and the host is the one who settles it.

No. Anyone can ask to join a public table, and most people start without a group. Play a few games, add the people you got on with, and you will have a group of your own for private tables.

Always meet for the first time in a public venue like a game store, cafe or library. Get to know someone before you host at home or go to theirs. Block and report anyone who makes you feel unsafe. RollMates does not vet or background check anyone, so use your judgement and leave if something feels wrong.

The United States, for now. RollMates places you by zip code and shows distance in miles, so it cannot find local tables outside the US yet. Online tables have no location, so anyone can join those. More countries are planned.
