Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Profile. Name, email, date of birth, gender, a photo if you add one, and what you like to play.
• Location. Your zip code, and your device’s location if you allow it, to show tables near you. When you check in to a table, your coordinates are sent to confirm you arrived. We record whether you were close enough and do not keep the coordinates.
• What you create. Your tables and your chat messages.
• Your record. Whether you attended tables you joined, and ratings from players who were at a session with you.
• Notifications. A device token, if you turn them on.
• Subscription. Whether you are subscribed, when it renews, and which store sold it. Card details go straight to Stripe, Apple or Google and never reach us.
• Usage. Which screens get opened. Once you sign in this is linked to your account.

2. How we use it

To run the app: signing you in, showing you tables, running friends and chat, sending notifications, showing players who is reliable, and handling reports. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.

3. Who can see it

• Other players see your name, photo, game preferences, your attendance record, and your rating once enough people have rated you. Your email is never shown.
• Companies that help us run RollMates. Supabase for accounts, database and files. Amazon Web Services for chat and push. Stripe for payments made on the web, and Apple or Google for payments made in the apps. PostHog for analytics. Google Maps to turn an address into a map location. Apple and Google to deliver notifications.

4. Deleting your account

You can delete your account any time from your profile settings. That empties your profile of everything identifying you, deletes the messages you sent and your notification token, cancels tables you were hosting that had not happened yet, and ends your sign-in.

These stay:

• What other people wrote in a conversation with you, because those are their words.
• Sessions that already happened, listed as hosted by a deleted user.
• Your attendance record and ratings, including ones you gave, attached to an account that no longer names anyone. They are part of other players’ scores.
• Anything we have to keep for legal, safety, or fraud reasons.

Deleted data can sit in encrypted backups for a while before those rotate out.

5. Your choices

You can edit your profile, change notification settings, and delete your account at any time. To ask what we hold about you, get a copy, or have it deleted, email support@rollmates.app. We won’t treat you differently for asking.

6. Cookies and local storage

Your browser, or the app on your device, stores your sign-in session and preferences. PostHog stores an identifier so a repeat visit counts as one person rather than two, and we connect it to your account once you sign in. Signing out disconnects it. There are no advertising cookies and nobody is tracking you across other sites.

7. Children

RollMates is for adults. You need to be 18, and we don’t knowingly collect anything from anyone younger. If we find out an account belongs to someone under 18 we delete it. If you think a child has given us information, email us.

8. Where your data is held, and security

RollMates is run from the United States, and that is where your information is stored and processed. Using it from another country means sending your information to the US. We take the usual precautions to protect it. No system is perfectly secure, and we won’t pretend otherwise.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, the “last updated” date at the top changes.
